Therapy Services:

Coaching, Counseling & Holistic Psychotherapy

My style is compassionate, empowering and attentive. Together, my open heart, analytical mind and intuition hold a balanced and holistic view of your life and your hopes.

My orientation for therapy comes from a “systems” perspective. This means I focus on how you function in relationship with those around you, as well as exploring what is inside you. Using this holistic framework, honoring of body-mind-spirit, I look at how you can define and hold on to your sense of separate self while remaining connected to others.

Based on the nature of your unique goals, we will determine the course of therapy that is right for you.  It is an honor for me to work with people to access and activate their inherent strengths.

If you are interested, we may also explore how other practitioners can support you with the physical components of mental and emotional health--including massage, acupuncture, naturopathy, homeopathy, nutrition, etc. Collaborative care with other healing professionals is available, including integrative treatments for depression, anxiety, insomnia and stress management.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy or hypnosis can be a powerful tool to empower oneself with positive habit changes. Using the power of your own mind and imagination, we will explore the areas where you have become “stuck” and help loosen their grip in your life.

Hypnosis works by allowing your subconscious mind to relax and be receptive to the positive affirmations and suggestions you want to hear, essentially getting out of your own way.

All hypnosis is self hypnosis. You will be in total control of yourself as you find deep relaxation, inner peace and manifest your deepest desires for change. Living as your true, authentic self!

A typical session will be 1.5 hrs long. This will include approximately a half hour of interview time, so I can fully understand the situation from your perspective. Next, I will guide you into deep relaxation through a guided visualization. Once you are deeply relaxed, I will interject the positive affirmations you want to hear. You will experience the change within yourself both in mind and body, “feeling” what it is like to have made the change within yourself. Spending time in this state creates new neurological connections in your brain and integrates these thoughts into new positive behaviors.

Most people report feeling very grounded and peaceful through this process. We will work together to bring your attention to the amazing resources you hold within.

What are some of the benefits of hypnotherapy?

  • Greater self esteem and confidence
  • Stress reduction and greater inner peace
  • Enhanced ability to relax, be mindful, and get centered
  • Facilitates lasting habit changes (such as smoking cessation, weight management, increased self confidence).

Insurance

Some insurance companies will reimburse for therapy with a receipt, and I provide a receipt for each session payment. I do not participate as a preferred provider in any insurance company plan. My obligation is to you, not to an insurance company. Many therapists do not take insurance due to reporting requirements and limitations on treatment.  I reserve the right to diagnose according to what you need, not according to what your insurance company will pay for, maintaining the highest possible standards of care. It is always your right to accept or reject any treatment that is offered for your own reasons. Yet, I believe it needs to be your decision, not your insurance company's decision.
